The Shenandoah County Pregnancy Center was founded in 1994 to provide a safe, supportive, and professional space for women and men making pregnancy and parenting decisions. Since then, SCPC has served thousands of women and men with free pregnancy and parenting services in New Market, Mt Jackson, Edinburg, Woodstock, Strasburg, and beyond.
Our mission is to provide loving support and practical education to those facing unexpected pregnancies. Whether you're looking for support in an unexpected pregnancy, resources for parenting, or simply someone to talk to, we are here for you! It is our honor to serve our community as we work to help individuals in Shenandoah County walk into full, flourishing life.
SCPC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization. As such, we are locally funded through like-minded individuals, foundations, and organizations. While we offer pregnancy consultations concerning pregnancy choices, we do not refer or perform abortions.
Kindness and Compassion—We deeply care for each person who walks through our doors. We want to hear your story so that we can champion you to thrive throughout pregnancy and beyond!
Honesty—Our staff and trained advocates are committed to providing women and men with open conversation and honest answers.
Confidentiality—Your information is held in strict confidentiality and all communication is handled with the utmost discretion.
Free Services—All of our services are available at no charge.
Lisa started serving at SCPC in 2002 as a client advocate and has since served as an Events Coordinator and in other roles. Her love for helping to minister to women in times of need influenced her decision to accept the role of Executive Director in 2020. Lisa is a mother of three—Duncan, Abigail, and Colleen—and lives with her husband Andy on a small farm in the Shenandoah Valley. When she isn’t at the center, she can be found tending her garden or working in her bee hives.
Tami is in her third year as Client Care Director, bringing warmth, organization, and a deep love for the families she serves. She has been married for thirty years and has four grown children—plus six cats who keep things lively at home! Before joining the staff, Tami volunteered at the Center’s events for many years. She cherishes the opportunity to support each family and looks forward to meeting new ones every day.
Terry Minnick served on the original steering committee, shaping the mission of SCPC from its infancy. In the ensuing years, Terry served the Center in a number of volunteer roles. In 2018, she joined the Center's staff as Client Services Director. After 4 years, Terry took on a new position, in anticipation of retirement, as "Material Services Manager"—just in time to oversee the renovation of the Material Services program and building. Terry says it is a pleasure and an honor to serve the ministry, mission, and clients of the SCPC. She finds it a joy to work alongside the wonderful and caring staff members and volunteers. This summer, Terry will celebrate 47 years of marriage to her best friend. She is the proud mother of 3 sons and grandmother to 6 beautiful grandchildren.
